Year One Anniversary Party at Gods & Monsters

I was one of the authors meeting the public and talking about books at the Gods & Monsters anniversary event on Saturday, June 11th. The event filled up the colossal space with dozens of artists and vendors, and the thousands who came to see them and shop.

I shared a writers’ table with Ricardo Chevere, Armand Rosamilia, Emilyann Girdner, Cynthia Pratt, and Jenny Ashford, all central Florida writers who came out to our beautiful position between the Coffee Shop of Horrors and the Off World Lounge – but closer to the bar, as writers are.

Cosplayers turned out in force. Here are a few of them.

Brian Downes is a writer who lives in Orlando, Florida. His novel, The Berlin Fraternity, about a man who hunts vampires for the Third Reich, is available on the Kindle and through Amazon.com. He enjoys pen and paper roleplaying games and geek culture. He clearly remembers waiting for The Empire Strikes Back to hit theaters, and vindicate his opinion that of course Vader was not Luke's father. You can't trust Vader's word!
