A Date with Edgar Wright Tonight

Tonight at LA’s Egyptian theater, my favorite director Edgar Wright will be attending the EW Cape Town Film Festival, where they will be showing his films, Shaun of The Dead and Scott Pilgram Vs. The World.  Both films will be followed by Q&A  with Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jason Schwartzman, and Bryan Lee O’Malley attending for the Pilgram panel.  Shaun of the Dead is sold out but you can still get a ticket for the 10:30 Scott Pilgram here http://www.fandango.com/egyptiantheatre_aaofx/theaterpage?wssaffid=11568_AmericanCinemathequeWebsite&wssac=58

To this day Shaun of the Dead is one of my favorite films to watch, so brilliant and clever.  Edgar Wright had previously worked with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost on a television series called Spaced, also brilliant and available on Netflix.  Go now, if you have time, even if you don’t, use your lunch break, it’s that entertaining and inspiring.  Back to zombies, how clever can this group be, just at the start of the film I was tense watching Shaun get ready for work, brushing his teeth, waiting for something to happen, because of the intensity of the camera direction.  They clearly communicate with each other on what they want to happen, how to make it happen, and probably still have time for a pint after.  I can not tell you guys how excited I am to be going to see this tonight at the beautiful Egyptian theater, but as this film is sold out, I won’t drag on about it.

Scott Pilgram, oh for all of us nerds, gamers, just perfect.  Here watch!

When we are given the chance to ask questions, I’m going to ask Edgar Wright out for coffee tonight, unless I think of some fantastic question that will give me creative insight to how his brilliant mind works. Then again that is a conversation I could save for coffee.

Also be on the lookout for his upcoming film with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, The World’s End to be released this August.

While acquiring a BA in Media Communications, I had the good fortune to take a few amazing Superhero and Comic Book courses. I also started a Zombie Awareness and Survival club, so students from diverse majors could survive the school year together. https://twitter.com/Geekurheartout
