O Cinema & Popcorn Nights are proud to present a special 30th Anniversary screening of…
INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM!

We have hosted a bunch of awesome 80?s classics during our Popcorn Nights @ O Cinema events, but now it is time to bring in the Doctor. Doctor Jones that is. INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM is an awesome adventure and though it was criticized up its’ release for being too violent, it has become widely regarded as the best film in the series. Not too long ago, Paramount re-released RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARKon the big screen, we here at Popcorn Nights feel that THE TEMPLE OF DOOM deserves a return to the big screen and we are doing it for one-night-only.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is a 1984 American fantasy-adventure film directed by Steven Spielberg. It is the second installment in the Indiana Jones franchise and a prequel to 1981 film Raiders of the Lost Ark. After arriving in India, Indiana Jones is asked by a desperate village to find a mystical stone. He agrees, stumbling upon a Kali-worshiping Thuggee cult practicing child slavery, black magic, and ritual human sacrifice. Producer and co-writer George Lucas decided to make the film a prequel as he did not want the Nazis to be the villains again. After three rejected plot devices, Lucas wrote a film treatment that resembled the film’s final storyline. Lawrence Kasdan, Lucas’s collaborator on Raiders of the Lost Ark, turned down the offer to write the script, and Willard Huyck and Gloria Katz were hired as his replacement, with the resultant screenplay partly based upon the 1939 film Gunga Din. The film was released to financial success but mixed reviews, which criticized its violence, later contributing to the creation of the PG-13 rating. However, critical opinion has improved since 1984, citing the film’s intensity and imagination.

The screening will be hosted by Marc Ferman of  PopcornNights.com  &  Keepitclassic.com and sponsored by ConventionExclusive.com. There will be giveaways by artist Blain Hefner/ Hefnation.com.
