The Lizard

The Lizard
Shaw Brothers
1972

While America’s Batman is a super-hero, Hong Kong’s The Lizard is a super-thief, whose kung-fu allows him to scale walls like some sort of deadly venom. His powers set the stage for a light-hearted action tale, featuring Shaw’s first great international kung-fu star, Lo Lieh (King Boxer, a.k.a. Five Fingers of Death). It’s also remembered as the final film of beloved teen idol Connie Chen Pao-chu, making this colorful adventure all the more special.
