Patlabor – Live Action Movie

When I was a kid I used to watch a ton of anime, I was really addicted to Super Robots and any anime in general that sported some kind of robot. Call it a robot fetish or whatever you want, but I love robots. Patlabor is one of the shows I used to watch, I think I got in to it around 1988. I used to be a VHS tape trader and people would send me all kinds of cool TV shows and movies from all over the world, Patlabor was one of the series which I received and have always liked.

Since 1998 Headgear Studios has slowly been putting together a live action movie version of Patlabor. The trailer came out in 1998, so it’s pretty old and not so great, but when it came out it was sort of a big deal to fans. The new images of the Ingram, the star robot in the Patlabor series are even more amazing to see in 2013.

The movie is slated to come out in Japan in 2014. I can only keep my fingers crossed after seeing these new pictures off of the movie set. I’m also leaving the 1998 trailer, and the site for the movie. You shouldn’t just stop here, you need to see it all.
