The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man Re-Opens At Universal Studios

Today, Thursday March 8th, 2012 was the grand re-opening of The Amazing Spider-man Ride at Universal Studios in Orlando Florida. People have been waiting for this with mixed emotions, some asking why Marvel Comics cares about updating the old Universal Studio Spider-Man ride instead of leaving Marvel Island behind and building Disney’s own version of a Marvel Comics based theme park? My guess is licensing, but maybe the world will never know. In the video below, the grandfather of comic books Stan Lee talks about the re-imagined Spider-man ride.

The ride animation has been edited more than once, it’s original queue cartoon showed New York city in flames as a result of the wanton destruction of the Super Villains Spidey has to round up, after 9/11 this was pulled and replaced with something less controversial. Funny enough this was also around the time that the first Spiderman movie was being released and it’s first teaser trailers (Helicopter being trapped in a web between the twin towers) were also pulled.
