Andrew W.K. Speaking at a My Little Pony Convention

Andrew W.K.

Many people may know Andrew W.K. as the man behind a slew of party rock songs (Party Hard, Party ‘til You Puke, Long Live the Party, etc.) but you might not know he played in Steve Stapleton (Nurse With Wound) and Dave Tibet’s (Psychic TV) group Current 93, is a classically trained musician, and a motivational speaker. Today it was revealed Mr. Wilkes-Krier (hence the W.K.) is hosting a panel at a My Little Pony convention this September in Strongsville, Ohio. Now, I know the first question going through your head is, “there are My Little Pony conventions,” but what is more important is that W.K. is heading up a discussion on the character Pinky Pie, a partying baker from Ponyville. Seems fitting.

I’m still amazed that he’s a motivational speaker but apparently there’s more to Andrew W.K. than songs about partying. I didn’t know he was in Current 93 until not that long ago and was impressed. I’m also dumbfounded that people meet up to discuss My Little Pony but there’s a market for everything.
