Protomen and Bit Brigade Light Up Orlando This Saturday

This Saturday, May 20th at The Abbey in Orlando, FL will be one of the biggest and best video game rock shows of the year. Protomen and Bit Brigade, two legendary bands on the same show.

The Protomen are musically a clash of Queen and Fleetwood Mac, taking the world of the Mega Man video game series and making original rock ballads of a dystopic society ruled by Dr. Wily and his evil robot army. In their songs, they tell a story of two different robots created by Dr. Light that rise up to fight against Dr. Wily. There are twists and turns in their story and because of how greatly The Protomen execute it, they have become one of the top video game-based acts in the world.

Bit Brigade is nothing to scoff at, either. They are the ultimate NES cover band, featuring a live NES game speedrun from one of their members, while the rest of the band plays that game’s soundtrack in real time to what is going on in the game, jingles and all. They have done this with Legend of Zelda, Contra, Castlevania, Mega Man 2, Metroid, Batman, Ducktales, and Ninja Gaiden. What these guys do takes tremendous skill and coordination among the whole band and it should not be missed.

In addition to the concert at The Abbey, The Protomen are hosting a showing of their short film Light Up The Night at The Enzian Theater earlier in the day. However, that is already sold out. Luckily, there are still tickets available to the concert, so get them now before they are gone!

The Abbey is located at 100 S. Eola Dr. Orlando, FL, right down the street from Lake Eola. Doors open at 7:30pm and tickets start at $18.
