Samurai Champloo
FUNimation

By the same brilliant mind behind Cowboy Bebop, Shinichio Watanabe delivers an impeccable anime featuring Japanese samurais and hip-hop beats. Samurai Champloo chronicles the adventures of Fuu, a fatherless loner, Jin, a ronin samurai, and Mugen, a wild vagrant (ruroni). Fuu leads these two master swordsmen on her quest to find the “samurai who smells of sunflowers.”

From episode one, Jin and Mugen are opposites in both style and attitude; Mugen’s fighting is random and chaotic, utilizing imperceivable blows to strike an unsuspecting opponent, while Jin practices a controlled, elegant, and clean combat stance, able to destroy jittery and messy targets. The chemistry between these two radically opposing fighters is comedic and light-hearted.

The animation of Samurai Champloo is crisp and monumental: every fight is choreographed accurately, the scenes are atmospherically incredible, and the characters are drawn with relatable, quirky expressions. Embellished with hip-hop tunes and hilarious characters, this heartfelt anime will surely reel you in.

NOTICE: Samurai Champloo HAS BEEN PULLED from NETFLIX, due to Netflix BEING STUPID.

I highly reccomend everyone to buy the Blu-Ray Set, since it’s the most amazing show you’ll ever watch.
