IMG_20141006_213513Horror Block is Nerd Block‘s horror-themed mystery box that every month includes a t-shirt and a selection of toys & collectibles.

The box is about the size of a large shoe box. The box features bloody packaging with blood soaked packing tape.

September’s Horror Block was a pretty strong box, it included 2 shirts and a Latex Mask just in time for Halloween.

HD remastered Blu-ray of the horror classic, Puppet Master.

Retail: $12.95

IMG_20141104_021956Reaction Figure

With articulation similar to the 1970’s Star Wars, Reaction Figures definitely have a vintage look. This Horror Series figure features Friday the 13th’s Jason Voorhees complete with machete.

Retail: $10.99

This fun kit features 4 colors of clay to make your own zombie. It’s air dry too, once you’re finished with your horrific creation let it sit over night to harden.

Retail: $4.99

This mini-cereal box includes 2 packs of Cereal Killers trading card stickers. Similar to the old Garbage Pail Kids cards, these feature funny parodies of horror movies.

Retail: $4.99

Like always, Horror Block includes a high quality t-shirt exclusive so that month. This month’s shirt is Friday the 13th’s Jason Voorhees. It’s a great looking design with the full moon and the blood red sky.

Retail: $14.99 (Estimated)

Before this month, Horror Block always included an issue of Rue Morgue so I was surprised to see Fangoria. I’m not sure if it’s a permanent switch or just this month but Fangoria is also a high quality horror magazine so it’s not a big deal.

This month’s issue was heavy on the Nightmare on Elm Street with multiple articles and an interview with Wes Craven himself. I enjoyed the interview with the Twisted Twin directors Jen & Sylvia Soska who talk about their recent work on See No Evil 2.

Retail: $10.99

IMG_20141104_022500This month’s box includes nearly $60 worth of horror items! Yet again Horror Block is a horrifically great value. The subscription price covers the shirt and the Fangoria magazine so think of the Figure, Blu-ray, cards & zombie kit as a bonus. Curious about the switch.

If you’re a fan of horror movies, you should be a subscriber to Horror Block.

In addition to the Horror Block, they also offer also Nerd Block Classic (“Comic Con in a box, plus a shirt, monthly!”), Nerd Block Jr. (“Awesome nerd gear for kids aged 6 to 11”) for boys and girls and the upcoming Arcade Block (video game mystery box).

Disclosure: A complimentary Horror Block Subscription Box was given for review purposes. All opinions are my own and no compensation was received.
