IMG_20141006_213513Horror Block is Nerd Block‘s horror-themed mystery box that every month includes a t-shirt and a selection of toys & collectibles.

The box is about the size of a large shoe box. The box features bloody packaging with blood soaked packing tape.

August’s Horror Block was pretty awesome with the Alien shirt and the NECA figure so let’s see how this month compares.

IMG_20141006_213921Rue Morgue Magazine’s Horror Movie Heroes

Instead of the usual issue of Rue Morgue included, this month comes with a large-sized book from their library series. Horror Movie Heroes features some great interviews with some of horrors biggest names.

Retail: $14.95

Awesome latex Iron Maiden Eddie mask. Insane amount of detail and pretty easy to see out of. This is definitely the star item of this month’s box.

Retail: $24.99

Bloody temporary tattoos go well with the mask.

Retail: $4.99

IMG_20141006_214714IT Pennywise Clown T-Shirt

Yet again Horror Block comes with an awesome shirt. This time it’s Pennywise the Clown from Stephen King’s IT.

Retail: $14.99 (Estimated)

IMG_20141006_214957Undead T-Shirt

What is this? A second shirt? Yes!

This bloody white shirt appears to be torn into the shape of a skull.

Retail: $9.99 (Estimated)

IMG_20141006_215133This month’s box includes nearly $70 worth of horror items! Just like last month’s box, this one is also a great value. While the subscription price is easily worth the Rue Morgue book and the IT T-Shirt alone, you are getting a high quality latex mask in time for halloween. Even if you don’t buy subscription boxes, I still recommend Horror Block if you’re a horror fan.

In addition to the Horror Block, they also offer also Nerd Block Classic (“Comic Con in a box, plus a shirt, monthly!”), Nerd Block Jr. (“Awesome nerd gear for kids aged 6 to 11”) for boys and girls and the upcoming Arcade Block (video game mystery box).

Disclosure: A complimentary Horror Block Subscription Box was given for review purposes. All opinions are my own and no compensation was received.
