New MGMT #1

Matt Kindt

Dark Horse Comics

Matt Kindt’s Mind MGMT has been going on a strong three year run since 2012, and New MGMT is the sole epilogue to the series. Mind MGMT is an epic tale about a true crime writer, Meru, who hunts for the truth behind a mysterious airplane crash. Throughout the series, Meru’s quest uncovers a secret government agency rife with espionage and super spies with paranormal abilities that is under attack by one of their former top agents, Henry Lyme.

New MGMT tells the story of how the characters of Mind MGMT cope with life after the war. For fans of the popular series, New MGMT doesn’t feel like a happy ending, it feels more like a sense of closure. Mind MGMT has long been praised as tangible proof of how artists can further push the medium of comic books to the limit and beyond. That being said, the fact that this issue brings and end to the epic saga once and for all makes fans want to beg for a continuation of the series.

The artwork and dark storytelling play true to Kindt’s signature style. For comic book fans that are looking for something outside the box in terms of creativeness and originality, Mind MGMT is a must!
