In addition to the record each month you receive an art print and a custom cocktail pairing recipe. There’s also bonuses like their exclusive weekly email magazine The Standard with MP3s and a members-only store opened on occassion with access to past-VMP releases.

The box is a heavy-duty flat record mailer that features the Vinyl Me, Please slogan printed on the front.

May’s Vinyl Me, Please was “Sprinter” from Mackenzie Scott, better known as Torres.

June’s record is from London-based electronic band, Hot Chip. This is a re-release of Hot Chip’s 5th album, “In Our Heads” which was originally released in 2012 on Domino. For this new version the record is split onto two 12″ 33rpm LP’s each in a different exclusive color (lavender & canary yellow).

“In Our Heads” is 56 minutes and 54 seconds of electro pop dance party. If I had to compare it to something, i’d say it’s like if the Rapture but a bit poppier and without the relentless cowbell. My favorite track is the also album’s single, “Night and Day”.

This month’s pairing is the “Dawn of Summer”. This is a funkified version of the Tequila Sunrise with lemon, grenadine, minneola juice & genever.

IMG_20150617_152033June may be a re-release but it’s a good thing considering this is such a great album. “In Our Heads” is one of the most danceable electronic albums you can find. Again it includes a personalized postcard which helps bolster the feeling of exclusiveness that VMP gives you. Vinyl Me, Please yet again manages to nail it. From the record choice to packaging, it’s just perfect.
