Schaffer the Darklord and Tribe One return to Orlando this Saturday

On Saturday. January 20th, Ongaku Overdrive kicks off its first show of the year with sensational acts Schaffer the Darklord and Tribe One, joined by local favorites Marc with a C and EyeQ. It will all take place at The Geek Easy in Winter Park, FL.

This show was originally supposed to take place last September, but Hurricane Irma made that impossible. Finally, the entire lineup is back together for what will be a night of dope nerdy raps and retro lo-fi indie pop. Schaffer the Darklord has risen to the top ranks of nerdcore with raps can be sinister at times, but always witty and thought provoking. Tribe One is a criminally underrated emcee who has performed many jams about comic books and pop culture as well as raps that can be truly uplifting and inspiring.

Marc with a C has become the icon of nerd music in Orlando, beloved almost universally, regardless of whether people became a part of the community through nerdcore, chiptune, or video game tributes. He won Orlando Weekly’s Best of Orlando 2017 award for Best Singer/Songwriter and also has a new album coming out in February. EyeQ has been on the rise, playing all over the country from PAX to MAGFest, and has a new album in the works for 2018 as well. He took 2nd place in that same Best of Orlando 2017 for Best Hip Hop Act, behind only Solillaquists of Sound.

It’s a night of tremendous talent and not one to miss. Tickets for the show start at $12 and be purchased online or at A Comic Shop. Doors open at 8:00pm, with music starting at 8:35pm. The Geek Easy is located at 114 S. Semoran Blvd. Winter Park, FL 32792, right across the street from Full Sail University.
