Is Microsofts new console, the Xbox One, releasing on November 8, 2013? According to games media Kotaku specially their Australia division, a source that works for a marketing firm that handles signage and product placement for megastore Wal-mart, passed along an e-mail that gives the release dates for various games as well as the two new major consoles.
Unchanged on the e-mail since Sony’s conference at Gamescom 2013 is the announcement that the PS4 is coming out on November 15,2013. Above that date it says that the Xbox One is coming out on November 8, 2013; however, unlike on all the other products listed on this e-mail, the Xbox one isn’t listed as confirmed. This may mean this is just a place holder date or the date Microsoft is planning for their console.
The importance of this date is that it would be a whole week before the PS4’s release and 3 days closer to what might be the biggest game of this year, Call of Duty: Ghosts. I’m not sure how much of an impact that will have over how many more Xbox One’s get sold as opposed to PS4s or if it even will effect the PS4’s numbers, but one would have to think that Microsoft would want to do everything in their power to turn the tides more in their favor.
